1. I am very touched by the response to my article "The Country We Love" (July 27, 2008). We may have our differences, we may be of different races but it seems that we all love this country.
2. I have been abroad hundreds of times but I never fail to look forward to returning home. And as I step off the plane I would feel that sense of belonging that almost move me to tears. I am quite sure that every Malaysian feels this way upon returning to this, our very own homeland.
3. As Malaysia we are not an old country for we came into being only slightly more than 50 years ago. But it had been a very eventful half a century.

3. As Malaysia we are not an old country for we came into being only slightly more than 50 years ago. But it had been a very eventful half a century.
4. No one gave us much of a chance when in 1957 we lowered the Union Jack and flew the Jalur Gemilang. We were of many races, cultures and religions, divided again by our economic functions, by extreme disparities in material wealth.
5. But our wise founding fathers, our Tunku Abdul Rahman, our Tan Cheng Lock and our Tun Sambanthan worked out a unique form of racial cooperation that staved off any violent confrontation between the races.
6. That cooperation, embodied in the coalition of racial parties and the Alliance/National Front Governments enabled the country to remain peaceful, bar one or two hiccups for 50 years.
7. Those were glorious years. The country grew and prospered. It became the model of the development of a developing country, a model of racial cooperation. It became known throughout the world where once no one could evenpronounce its name. It was the envy of other developing countries.
8. Malaysians abroad felt proud because the moment they identified themselves as Malaysians, immediately people talked of F1 in Sepang and the twin towers.
9. There seemed to be nothing to stop us from achieving our goal of becoming a developed country by 2020.
10. Now all these dreams seem to have faded away. We are involved in political wrangling of all kinds, our leaders seem to be uncertain about what to do, our foreign policy is in disarray etc etc.
11. We have lost our direction. And we get no guidance.
12. We can withdraw into ourselves and merely wish our problems would go away or would solve themselves.
13. But that is wishful thinking. They will not solve themselves, they will not go away. If at all they will become worse, become much more difficult to resolve, as our people become more deeply divided.
14. The organisations created by our founding leaders which we were once confident could handle every problem have now deteriorated. Everything is about what is in it for me. Even the ordinary members of once respected political parties want something for themselves. Jobs, posts, titles, contracts and filthy lucre are the only things which matter.
15. Sacrifice? What sacrifice?
16. Who cares to sacrifice whatever. For most of the people we put our trust in to steer this beloved country to greater heights, the only sacrifice is to give up the Mercedes Benz for Proton Perdana, and that too very reluctantly.
17. I wasn't the best of leaders when I was in the hot seat.
18. But I did try my best. If my best is not good enough I am sorry.
19. But Dato Onn Jaafar, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Abdul Razak, Tun Hussein Onn, Tun Tan Siew Sin, Tun V.T. Sambanthan cannot be faulted in terms of the sacrifices they made, their contributions to building racial harmony, peace and stability for their country.
20. Could it be that we forgot to teach this generation of leaders about the sacrifices made by our founding fathers. 21. Could it be that we cannot handle wealth as we did poverty?
22. Could it be that our leaders lack honour and the sense to accept responsibility and to retire gracefully?
23. Some simply cannot accept the realities, the role they had played in the destruction of a near perfect system which had done so much for our country.
24. Yes we should "Cry the Beloved Country" as Alan Payton said of his South Africa of the Apartheid past.
25. But crying would take us nowhere.
26. It is time the silent majority stop being silent.
27. It is time to speak up and be counted.
28. If we love our country we must not allow crooks and charlatans to rape and steal it from us.
29. It is ours, this country of many races and religions.
30. We must stand together, we the concerned Malaysians, and defend our heritage.

Assalamualaikum Ayahanda Tun,
Apa khabar ayahandaku yang tercinta? Boleh kah saya ingin berjumpa dengan ayahanda? Saya teringin nak cium tangan ayahanda.....saya tak pernah jumpa ayahanda seumur hidup saya tapi saya adalah penyokong no 1 ayahanda....adakah saya yang pertama hari ini?
Semoga Allah memberkati kita semua. Amin
I 'm the no one
Dear Tun - wow, can't agree more with you. But I don't agree with you on your point 17. I think you are thus far the best PM we have ever have!
Dear Tun,
Teruskan perjuangan yang belum Selesai..
Agreed with you on Point 25: Crying would take us nowhere. Of course we must stand together and defend our heritage.
But 1st, everyone must get a stable jobs in order to have a better living standards.
ON THE DOT BOSS.....MEMANG SPOT ON
Tun please do sumthing to change the current condition of our country..... WE NEED YOU! Thanks
I am with you
Keep on writing
Assalamualaikum Dr Tun,
Viva Tun Berdua,
I love Malaysia. I love being Malay. I am proud of my heritage. I am an overseas trained Chemical Engineer. After fulfilling my goverment obligation, I can go to anywhere in this world to get a better money like some of my egonistic highly educated Chineese born in Malaysia. But NOOO, I stay in Malaysia. I love this country. May be becouse I am a Malay? Dirgahayu Tun.
Apa kahabar Tun?...Harap Tun sihat bersama keluarga tercinta...
Seperti hilang arah pemimpin kita sekarang, semuanya takut bersuara mungkin takut dengan AB, kalau dulu Tun dikatakan diktator tetapi terang-terangan ditentang oleh orang-orang sendiri, tapi sekarang AB dikatakan orangnya "Mr Clean", lemah-lembut tapi kenapa pemimpin semua takut kepada AB...
Tun apa rakyat perlu buat?
Yeah Tun!
Way to go. Dr M the STATESMAN has spoken.
May Malaysia shine on for the rest of the third world countries to emulate...
Great piece again, Tun.
The SEMANGAT is undeniably very PRESENT and STRONG.

I'm chinese (non-bumi) from Tawau, Sabah. My family is poor. Father left us when i was young leaving my mother have to take care of me and other 5 siblings. She had to pajak ikan sikit sini dan sana just so she can try to sell just so she can untung a bit everyday. Being the eldest, when i finish form 5, she cannot afford me to go for further studies. I try to apply to go ITM (Institut Teknologi Mara), thanks to the NEP, the institute is for Bumis only. Those Bumis who can't study and well-off manage to gain entry. I try to apply nursing, but instead was rejected because i was chinese, instead those bumis who pass form 3 only, manage to gain entry.
For that lady who wrote to say that it's sad to watch a malay sweeping the floor of a chinese bungalow. You think Malay saja yang kena victimize? Well, think again. Orang cina pun kena victimize bah
------------------------------------------------------------------
This is some of the flaws in NEP...
sad to hear this...
Memang elok bantu Melayu, asalkan jangan lupa bantu kaum lain...
Im grateful for NEP as now im working in industrial industry as engineer after graduating from U...
During the early years of NEP, ia banyak membantu kaum bumiputra yg susah seperti saya
Tetapi selepas sekian lama; lebih 20 tahun, orang Melayu jadi bangsa yang mengharap...mungkin tak semua, tapi majoriti!
Sentiasa mengharap bantuan kerajaan, pinjaman, jawatan kerajaan...
You know the answer!
Sebelum lumpuh selamanya...
Kalau teruskan begini, saya risau sampai bila2 pun kita di takuk lama
atau mungkin akan jadi lebih teruk!!
bersusah2 dahulu, bersenang2 kemudian...
dan Semoga Tun yang dihormati sentiasa sihat
Count me in if you need to die for Malaysia
I cried when heard news that Tun Razak died in London
I had tears when Tun Dr Ismail leave us
I was sadden when Tun leave your office then
I was heartbreak when Tun leave UMNO
BUT
I dont care anymore if anything happen to our present leaders...
Sorry, out of topicd a bit:-
Few people that I would like to address:
Samuraimelayu:
My deepest apologies to you bro, I might have overlooked it. But if you see the posting on August 4 2008, your name appeared 1st, then Jeng3. And then there was another posting only by Jeng 3, but both carried the same articles. Maybe it is another conspiracy or something like that, since Malaysia is well known for conspiracies these days. Anyway, I pull together my ten fingers and apologize to you…
Jeng3
My posting that was written for samuraimelayu was actually for you, so take note!!!
Mis_bah
I do not really know who is actually practising discrimination, you or me? My nick is TDMhater, but have I ever said TDM stands for Tun Dr Mahathir?? I never knew Tun has both the copyright for TDM. I mean, yours is mis_bah. Bah is another word for flood in Malay. So are you Miss Flood?? Which place do you want to flood actually?? I sound stupid right. Just because your name is that, I sincerely believe you do not have any intention to flood anywhere. But if I sound stupid, you have to agree you too sounded stupid, judging me just because I have such nick!!! And on the discrimination part, you are worst off, because you don’t even know me, but you assumed I am such a person just because of my name…SHAME ON YOU!!!
Abdul Hayee
I apologize to you too sir, for not understanding the real meaning of kangaroo court. I really and sincerely hope you could enlighten me on it. But this is what wikipedia has to say on kangaroo court:
A kangaroo court or kangaroo trial, sometimes likened to a drumhead court-martial or Drumhead trial, is a sham legal proceeding or court. Kangaroo courts are judicial proceedings that deny due process in the name of expediency. Such rights include the right to summon witnesses, the right of cross-examination, the right not to incriminate oneself, the right not to be tried on secret evidence, the right to control one's own defense, the right to exclude evidence that is improperly obtained, irrelevant or inherently inadmissible (e.g. hearsay), the right to exclude judges or jurors on the grounds of partiality or conflict of interest, and the right of appeal. The outcome of a trial by "kangaroo court" is essentially determined in advance, usually for the purpose of providing a conviction, either by going through the motions of manipulated procedure or by allowing no defense at all.
Check out the last phrase: either by going through motions of manipulated procedure or by allowing no defense at all. So you can have 1000 defense lawyers, but if it is manipulated, then it is a kangaroo court.
I find a lot of other phrases too that has similarity on what happened 10 years ago, and a lot of similarity on what is happening today. Hey, but I might be wrong cause I am not that smart. I might be also wrong on the court case 10 years ago, it might be one of the most perfect, fair hearing in the history of mankind, it was just that there were many idiots whom were also professionals locally and also foreigners that condemned the entire trial. But all of us might be wrong, because we are not smart persons (sorry guys, I am pulling you all into this too). Besides that, I believe Wikipedia might be wrong too, maybe they have written the meaning so that it would suit the man on trial now, Since Tun always say foreigners would frequently support that particular man!! So Mr Abdul Hayee, I admit my stupid ness and apologize to you for not understanding the real meaning of Kangaroo Court!!!
AND TO ALL, I HAVE NOTHING PERSONEL AGAINST TUN. AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, I WOULD BE A SINNER IF I SAY TUN HAD NEVER DONE ANY GOOD DEEDS, BUT I WOULD ALSO SAY HE HAS THE FAIR SHAIR OF THE OPPOSITE. HE IS ALSO LIKE A FATHER TO ME, BUT FATHERS ARE ALSO HUMANS THAT MAKES MISTAKES, WHICH NEEDS SONS THAT NEEDS TO FREQUENLTY REMIND THEM ON SUCH MATTERS. I AM NOT LIKE THE OTHER SONS WHO BLINDLY SAY WHATEVER TUN HAVE DONE AND WHATEVER TUN IS DOING IS RIGHT. AND FOR MY NICK, SINCE MIS_BAH IS NOT VERY HAPPY, MAYBE I WOULD JUST CHANGE IT TO TDMlover!!!
YA Bhg Tun,
I don't agree with point 17, you were simply the BEST! Keep on going Tun, god bless.
Regards

Assalamualaikum? dan salam sejahtera to all Malaysian
Im the truly Malaysian
Im very proud to be Malaysian
I love Malaysia
Malaysia tanah tumpah darah ku
peace for all Malaysian
I don't know Tun...looking back at Malaysia under BN, I don't feel they have done a good enough jobs. I mean, to the standard of excellence. Yes, we have the largest airport and the tallest building but I think Malaysians (in particular Malays and in particular Govt officials) do not understand what it means to be professional and 100% committed to the same level as the Japanese and Hong Kong / Taiwan Chinese. I think you have been able to detect this trend very early on when you came up correctly with the Look East Policy but unfortunately, Malaysians could not stomach it.
I mean there is a difference when we walk into a mamak grocery store and a Chinese grocery store. The latter is cleaner and we can see the owner take great pride to stock a wide variety of goods, nicely aranged and CLEAN. Then there is a difference when we walk into a Chinese grocery store and a Japanese grocery store. The latter is CLEANER still to the point where things are polished until it shines. This mentality is ABSOLUTELY LACKING among Malays but is present to some degree in Chinese and lesser in Indians. Instead of grocery store, we can also see examples in all sorts of businesses. Tun can try it. Walk into a Malay business premise. Then walk into a Chinese business premise. Then walk into a JAPANESE business premise.
I think the task for a Malaysian leader now is to make the Malays (and Govt officials) to be able to movitate themselves to reach to this kind of level of thinking and mentality. I do not intend to discriminate but just to share my observation.
Salam Tun & my fellow bloggers.
With the Merdeka spirits, my fellow malaysian, malay, chinese, indian, punjabi, sabahan, sarawakian, caucasian and the rest of us, lets work together for better harmony and understandings.
If we feel the current leadership is not at par, lets bring them down together.
Salam Tun,
Your sacrifices all these years are highly noticable and appreciated by me as a rakyat. Thank you Tun. I must thank God for who you really are. The true hero of Malaysia.
Pak Lah please step down. You have ruined this country. No body respect you anymore. Same goes to you HP6 cabinet.
Tun is the best. Tun is really close to our heart. Every Malaysian owe something to Tun. That's why we love Tun.
Pak Lah is not sincere. it's written all over the face. Please stop talking as every word you said hurt us.
Since there is nothing good ever happen during your time, please step down gracefully or be prepared to be humiliated by Ku Li this December.
Is there anything we can do to safe our belove country? Or we just have to wait for the government to do something while we can't do anything? So bad? Is it out of our reach?
Dear Tun,
There are no sorry for "my best" what you did Tun.....I'm fully support you on this...we should be very greatfull to what have you done...thank Tun (but that should not be enough!)
All Malaysian should have those feeling-responsible, care and sincere...regardless of what races they are!.....
Assalammualaikum Tun,
I agree with you Tun. It is time for the silent majority stop being silent. We have to wake up speaks our mind. But we need a leader like you. Its time for you to do something to change the current leadership. We will all behind you Tun. We cannot wait any longer.
You are the best PM we ever have!
Setengah orang cakap banyak kalipun, kias kiasan pun , masih tak faham faham lagi....now Tun , you have created the vision 2020 , memang dah nampakpun kita akan capai....but then the recent years tells us the other way round......dah nampak kabur since Pak Lah pegang......kemudi entah kemana,hak2 kita boleh ditempelak, racial issues makin menjadi,hak2 pekerja swasta tak diendahkan.....where all this elements untuk kita kearah visi 2020.
Semoga Tun sentiasa membuka mata kami semuanya terutama Pak Lah.
I love my country Malaysia very much. I know its not the best place to stay according to world standard. However, as a Malaysian who used to reside overseas for three years, the moment I touched down in our homeland is one of the best moments in my entire life.
No matter what people say about our country and what is happening in our country lately, if we were to compare with other richer countries out there... Malaysia is still the best overall. The old Malay proverb, "Hujan emas dinegeri orang, Hujan batu dinegeri sendir" really means a lot if we were to think it thoroughly.
Let's keep our country to be the best homeland in the world.
Tun,
Solving the root problem is the most important thing now for all Malaysian.
We just want an easy life.
Goverment has made it tough for us.
We are suffering more day by day.

warga Chedet the best!!
lets do our best for our country!!
Tun:
I can't believe what I am reading. YOU left behind a fully corrupt system where the judiciary, the ACA, the Police and the AG's Chambers were totally beholden to UMNO. Now that you have passed the baton to Badawi, why should you be complaining ? The people who are guarding the keys to the country's treasury are raping and looting - but they have the protection of the various organs which you corrupted years ago.
If I were you, I would be so ashamed of myself that I won't be seen in public or open my mouth.
My dearest Tun.
"17. I wasn't the best of leaders when I was in the hot seat.
18. But I did try my best. If my best is not good enough I am sorry. "
Don't say that.
You never have to be sorry.
You really did do your best.
And it was the best we've ever had.
It was the best anyone could ever have.
You have done a lot,Tun.
A LOT.
We love you Tun.
We love you.
I love you.
If they ever tell my story..
Let them say I was inspired by a giant.
Men rise and fall like the winter wheat..
But this name will never die.
Let them say I lived in the time of a father and a builder of nation..
Let them say I lived in the time of Mahathir.

Salam Dr M
There is a kind of poetry in your writing. Reading your postings evoke a sentimental experience in us.
As for pt 17 & 18 - we beg to differ. Your intentions are noble.
As far as we are concerned, the MEANS justify the ENDS - the intent justify the result.
Please continue blogging and take care, Tun.
Dear Tun,
We will voice it out, Tun.
We will be heard.
They will hear us.
They will hear even our faintest heartbeat like the loudest beating drum.
Because we love our country.
And we are here to defend it.
Oh,yes. We will!
Nazirul Hazim A Khalim.
Dear Tun,
When I saw an Indonesia can buy property with discount 7% in Msia with bumi status, yet I can't eventhough I was born here. I'm not so sure whether I should love my country that much or not
To KunPhisaid,
Why do you have to keep harping on what you perceive as "some of my egonistic highly educated Chineese born in Malaysia..."
Are you saying none of your non-Chinese friends are 'egoistic'
For some one highly educated like you, your needless bashing of your friends just because they are 'Chinese' does not tell much about your ability to think, leave alone tell much about your moral values
Good morning Tun,
I am very proud to be a malaysian. I have many friend from various religious, races and background, but we all live happily together.
No matter who be the leader of the country, please make sure that he is capable and strong. Pak Lah??? I dont think so!
Is was not easy to build the relationship among all malaysians. We all live happily together since "merdeka". So please don't ruin it.
ALLAAH HU AKBAR... ALLAH HU AKBAR.. ALLAH HU AKBAR
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Kita bertuah sbb tinggal dlm sebuah negara yg harmoni. Semua kaum
mempunyai persefahaman. Tpi persoalannya adakah keadaan ini
akan kekal? Skrg ni byk pihak yg timbulkan isu sensitif tentang hak
dan Keistimewaan Melayu. Paling latest forum Memeluk Islam yang
cetus kontroversi.
Mungkin Tun
fikir ada lagi yng masih teritinggal. Idea Tun yang melangkaui
masa menaikkan nama Malaysia. Dulu kalo tanya org luar, tau Malaysia tak? Dorang jawab, yg sebelah Singapore tu ke?
Thank you Tun. Proud to be Malaysian. Happy Independece Day
TUN YG DIHORMATI
YOU DID YOUR BEST!! YOU ARE THE BEST NOW AND FOREVER!!
Will somebody out there do something, its not safe anymore, our country is getting weak each day....
We understand your pain Tun, you are not alone, always remember that.
Regards to Ibu Hasmah
Dear TUN,
Everyone of us loves our country, Malaysia; Malays,Chinese,Indians,Ibans and others.
We were proud to be Malaysians especially during you era as PM. Cannot hold our heads high now, sigh.....
The country is listless and seemed to be going nowhere; absolutely demotivating! What sacrifice is AAB talking about what has he done in terms of sacrifice? Why must we sacrifice for his weakness? He should take steps to prevent further hardships to us. Obviously he is not capable of doing. If he was the PM in 1998 he would have done nothing but to beg IMF to rescue and we lose our sovereignity! Then said that was the sacrifice we must make...
I can count in as one of the silent majotity but time to speak out--AAB PLEASE GO FOR THE SAKE OF THE NATION!!
TUN, take care and continue to guide us with your writings. Regards to wife too!
Tun,
We love Malaysia.. and we always love YOU! Thanx for everything Tun...
But Tun, who else in the Barisan Nasional coalition we should trust now? Both the current PM and DPM also been out of sight and out of mind.
Dear Tun,
Great thoughts. It is always good to know of your true feelings and also reminder to us of our Founding Fathers who have done so much to make what Malaysia is today. Not to mention, your contribution to Malaysia is invaluabe irrespective of what people say.
Malaysia today, is not as once we are so proud like before. Nowadays there are just feelings of uncertainty, confusion, as if like we are gradually going to the abyss! Leaders are more having personal agendas rather than helping the 'rakyat'. Of course, the results of the last election was the warning from the rakyat for the leaders to buck up and get back to work. Again, nobody is learning the lesson and doing the same thing. Who is the victim? The rakyat got to bear all their follies and non-sense.
The rakyat only power is the ballot box and yes the rakyat will once again 'x' the person (party) who deserve to be the real leaders of this beloved homeland.
God bless Malaysia!
Cheers!
Dear Tun,
No matter where we are, what we have become, how we intend to be, I strongly believed Malaysia still the best place to live in.
Our Founding fathers have done their best to lay the foundation and it is up to us to rectify the weaknesses and fault. New generations come and goes and it will never reduce in terms of complexity of problems. We still need to face, address and resolve it. Like at home, sometimes I can't expect my father to solve every single of my problem, there would be a day I have to deal it myself.
The only differenced would be from our founding fathers till today leaders, we see increasing lesser day by day the accountability and responsibility of facing, addressing and resolving the complexities of problems.
History will repeat themselves no matter accidentally or not, the problem will resurface again and again. The differences would be generations of leaders in making sure it is rectified. No direction and no guidance would be best referring in our country scenarios. Some will say "Auto-pilot"
We need another leader that stand together with us during this difficulties and lead us to another new dawn of Malaysia.
Salam Sejahtera Tun,
Silent majority has and will spoken!
I'm proud to be Malaysian!
Change is good!
p/s: I feel the same why, everytime the plane landed in KLIA. It feel so good to be home.
Salam Tun,
It is very enlightening to read one of your "softer" article, i can't agree more with what Tun has written, i may only have 1/10 of your insightful understanding of the past but i am sure the silent majority will agree substantially with what you have written. Hope Tun can also lead and show the ways to defend our heritage.
May God bless and take care of Tun and family.
I think kunphisaid is a moron and is 1 of the reason our beloved country is in its current state. A nationwide purge of these kinds of bigots and corrupt politicians is required to save us
Salam Tun,
What should we do Tun? We have been protected by peace almost 50 years and we don't know what to do. I know that you could not tell us upfront as to avoid being called inciting others but maybe a simple name of organisation apart from UMNO that we could trust .UMNO is not the UMNO that we have known before. Now is UMNO Abdullah. A new party perhaps lead by Mukhriz. ? The name of the leader is SOOOOO important to generate followers at this short span of time.
Tun, you are wrong at point no 17. You are the best.
Thank you
Dear Ayahanda,
Personally for me and the rest of us in Malaysia whether they like you or not the fact is you are THE BEST PRIME MINISTER EVER we have and i dont think in 100 years time we will be able to find someone like you.....YOU ARE THE BEST AYAHANDA TUN.......WE ALL LOVE YOU SO MUCH.....
COME ON MALAYSIAN, ITS ABOUT TIME TO STAND UP AND FOIGHT FOR OUR BELOVED COUNTRY!!!!
HIDUP MALAYSIA! HIDUP TUN DR MAHATHIR
P/S: DEAR TUN I REALLY WANT TO MEET YOU SIR.
Assalamualaikum,
Yes, most of us love this country, albeit in different ways and for different reasons. But the thing is, the different races have not really bonded. We can clearly see this in the universities where students group up with others of the same races/religion. It is very seldom that we see Malay and Chinese students walk and eat together, and from there on, the 'culture'/'habit' continues into the workplace. But in the primary schools such harmony still exist. Could it be that the consciousness about race and religion is the factor that divide? What can we do about this? Should we keep on merely ‘tolerating’ each other instead of welcoming the difference? Something really need to be done, fast, or else we may love to hate each other because of the differences.
http://malaysiannewsblog.whizz.net.in/
Assalammualikum Tun,
May you and families is in good, health conditions and be Blessed by Allah always.
I agree with you on the above matter except that you are the best Prime Minister Malaysia has produce. The pervious Prime Ministers of Malaysia did their part and contribution to gain independance, to live in a harmonious environment (except during May 13) and you played a very important part in developing this country to where it is now.
There's no chance in this world that Abdullah Badawi can equal even 5% of your achievement during his "unfortunate" bad tenureship as Prime Minister of Malaysia. He has failed in every aspect of a leader and he's living in denial all the time.I for one is getting sick of him and deep down,i pitty him more knowing the fact that as a muslim, he cannot lie to Allah like he did to millions of Malaysian.
Apparently, our current leaders seems to have zero guts/balls to make the necessary changes and they still idiotically like to say out loud "We love Pak lah" or "We support Pak Lah". I for one is so sick of this especially when it came from BN own coalition parties such as MCA,MIC etc. At least now i can see that Gerakkan is listening to the peoples voice than being ignorant like the rest.
I don't even mention or talk about UMNO as the party is no longer relevant to any sane homosapeins.
All i can say is that whatever that is going on in this country currently, i strongly believe is planned and not a coincidence. I strongly believe that Pak Lah and Anwar Ibrahim is plotting the downfall of that idiot Najib. My heart is telling me that whatever that is going on currently like Anwar being charged and Anwar accuse Pak Lah is behind it,is all a stage to mislead the Malaysian people. It's a very dangerous game pak lah is playing being good friends with the devil to ensure that he still remain as Prime Minister by 2010. If there were any transition of Power, it shall be from Pak Lah to Anwar with Khairy or Badawi regime cronies as Deputy. By that time, Najib would be in jail on Altantuya case outcome or purchase of weapons for the Defence Ministry through 3rd party.
Our beloved country is sinking in all aspect and this is happening right in front of our very eyes. What can people like me do? We did exercise our rights during the last General Election but it seems to be not enough to make the necessary changes this country much need. What else can we do Tun Dr.Mahathir?? Tell us and help us.
Salam Tun,
Kesimpulannya, singkirkan PM flip flop dari singgahsananya.
Assalamualaikum Tun,
WE LOVE THIS COUNTRY, AND I LOVE YOUR LEADERSHIP
http://anakmalaysia81.blogspot.com/
Dear Tun Dr. Mahathir,
I was once told, that you are among one of the genius people in this century. Today i couldn't agree more with those fact i've heard.
Your character is one of a kind. The honesty, the truth, the leadership.
Sekian, maaf atas kekasaran bahasa.
4. Saya bersetuju sangat2 dengan perkara yang ke-30.
I LOVE MY COUNTRY...
This Country can be managed better..
We can do it better..
Our country don't deserved to be current status!
Salam Tun...
Terharu saya membacanya...
http://impianrakyat.blogspot.com
Tun,
I am glad that you can still recall the contributions of several great statesmen who helped to shape Malaysia of the early stage.
However, sometimes I just wonder why the MP of Sembrong Constituency fails to appreciate the noble political ideology of his grandfather, Dato Onn Jaafar and the cleanliness in handling national wealth of his father, Tun Hussein Onn.
Onlooker
Tun's list of respectable politicians is appended below:
"19. But Dato Onn Jaafar, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Abdul Razak, Tun Hussein Onn, Tun Tan Siew Sin, Tun V.T. Sambanthan cannot be faulted in terms of the sacrifices they made, their contributions to building racial harmony, peace and stability for their country."
Tun Dr. Mahathir,
I am one of the silent majority - tell me/us, what shall we do now?
I am serious and I think all of Malaysian too.
Appreciate if you could reply back.
Many thanks and please continue to write!
assalamualaikum Tun
Salam Tun,
I am deeply moved when reading this article. Being fortunate enough to visit the foreign lands, I have always been grateful being born as Malaysian and the sense of relieved is overwhelming once MAS made its landing di bumi bertuah ini. I've seen the "so called" developed nation and poor nation.
What makes this country special is, the foundation set by our founding fathers and inter racial tolerance.
Sadly though, the new generation are becoming more racist than ever. I remembered during my school days, I don't identify friends coming from which race. After school, I'll be happily having teh susu at Paik Lian house while looking at her puppies (remembering not to touch them & Paik Lian guarding the puppies so that they kept their distance from me) Or I'll be having chapatis with curried crab gravy at Aunty Berray's house while learning to converse in English. My best friends one is a Chinese/Kadazan and the other is Indian/Chinese. I became a VP in a non bumi dominant society while studying in UM.
I'm at loss thinking what went wrong with the society and was alarmed when one day my young school going children uttered racial slur. They really got a long lecture on that day.
With the current situation in Malaysia, I am worried not only on what lies ahead but also for the future generation.
Warmest regards and keep on giving your opinions, Tun
Ybhg TDM,
Your the best.....Thank you!Never ever stop share your ideas and knowledge with us.....You teach us to think and see differect way...The knowledge that I can never ever get from class room...
Im proud to be Malaysian....Your well respected by foreigners, Your name and Malaysia stand together.
THANK YOU
Tun, morning.
there lots of attempt to form the bangsa malaysia notion as what has been propsed by u during your reign as the number one premier. i read a book by farish, entitled di balik malaysia. and i found farish approach was too radical despite the fact that he wants we to unite. how do u think, are we suppose to abolish the malay privilages to welcome the new concept of malaysian malaysia?
http://writtenbyhim.wordpress.com/2008/08/08/farish-noor-seorang-intelek-yang-dipergunakan/
LOVE MALAYSIA.
Kepada Tun yang dikasehi, terimakasih sekali lagi...tepat sekali apa yang Tun tulis "11. we have lost our direction and we get no guidance"....inilah yang saya rasakan sekarang ini.
And on your point 18, i would like to say that you have done your best, and without doubt, what you did was the best for this country. There is no issue of "if my best is not good enough".
Semoga Tun sentiasa sejahtera, salam...
"bagaimana kita dapat memupuk perpaduan kaum antara kita?"
http://writtenbyhim.wordpress.com/2008/07/29/racial-integration-the-dawn-waiting/
Hello most honourable Tun, I most certainly agree with you on point 22- I wonder why its difficult for Malaysian poiticians to retire gracefully. I am only thinkling of the Reverent Samy Veloo in mind. I would have drank rat poison by now Vijay
Dear Tun,
I don't mean to disregard Tunku or anything, but if you were the 1st PM, Malaysia could have become what it is today, 20 years ago.
What do u think of that?
Salam Tun,
....11.We have lost our direction. And we get no guidance.
TQ
Salam Tun to you and your family,
Following from your last posting, I am proud to let you know that both my husband and I are products of NEP. Yes, we are Malay professionals who have benefitted from NEP and we are contributing back to society by toiling through our jobs to make this 'tanah tumpah darahku'a better place to live in.
My late father was the quintessential civil servant who served for the country for more than 30 years of his life ( and you when you were the Education Minister)and he did it also out of love for the country, unlike, I regret to put on record, the majority of civil servants today.
This latest posting is very poignant to read. You have hit the nail on the head with Point#21 (and all your other Points, I might add).
Pray tell us, what can we the ordinary rakyat do to rid ourselves of these crooks and charlatans? We need you more than ever now, Tun.. and I must apologize on behalf of the Malaysian rakyat for imposing such a herculean task upon you... Please, tell us what needs to be done.
Aisyah
Tun,
I disagree with point 17. You are the best leader. You have done your best. I am touch and emotional listening to you saying I am sorry. You dont have to utter those sentence. You made us stand tall, proud to be Malaysian. I will never let myself or my children ever forget that.
Peace on Earth
Dear Tun,
Reading your article moved me. There must be thousands of Malaysian like me, like us - who usually gather in mamak stalls to meet up, talk and listen to one another.
My friends in PJ usually meet up and we comprise Malays, Chinese, Indians, half-Chinese, Babas etc. The fact is that we meet together, are colour-blind to race, religion and ideology. I am very proud to have them as friends.
Today, you won't see people like us of multi-races meeting together in the younger generation. Malays will keep to themselves. Chinese and Indians too. Why is this happening although we speak one common language: Bahasa Malaysia. Where has this taken us? Why are we separated further than ever?
Unlike us, my Malay friend will call me 'brother'. I call him that too because in essence- we are all brothers. My Indian friend will call me 'brother' as well.
Tun- the fault lies in the leadership of which you were also a part of. Education in schools is the root of the problem. If we can cut off the root of the problem in schools now, we are certain to remove all these racial insecurities.
What's more - the current leadership is setting a fine example of segregation by race, religion and ideology. It's time they sat down and initiate change not by pointing fingers but by holding hands together - brother to brother, sister to sister.
Tun,
1. Our current "so called leaders" want to lead, but they do not know how to lead; they want to be liberal, but do not know to what extent; they want to be democratic, but they do not what is democracy; they want to be seen as "open-minded", but they do not know how much "to open their minds", they want to look smart, but they do not know the difference between smart in looks, and smart in brooks; they want everything, but they do not want to give anything; they want to be popular, but they do not know "the price of popularity!"; basically, this current bunch of so called leaders are actually just a bunch of losers!
2. Tell us "the Silent Majority" what to do, Tun? We did not support them during PRU12, yet they managed to form the Government. We cannot possibly sabotage the economy, as they had beaten us to it. We cannot "go slowly", as they are slower than us. We cannot do many things, as we do not have much thing to begin with, in the first place! Arms? No, Military? No, Police? No, as we have been raised and educated to be "Peace Loving People!"
3. This beloved country of ours "has gone to the dogs!" The only positive we could take from this is that, as they say, "every dog has his day!" Hopefully, that day is not too far a distance, and we would not be left with too much to do to rebuild our beloved nation!
Meanwhile, take good care of yourself, Tun, and May Allah continues to bless you with health and wisdom!
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Agreed with you 100%.
1) Where is the majority that disagree with the government?
2) If there is lah, why are they keeping silent?
2) Where is the Rakyat Leaders?
3) Are we having the right leaders?
4) Umno MT's, what is wrong with you guys?
5) Umno youth.. gone case, please take out those that think they are so great but empty cans.Hishamuddin please?
6) And Rakyat...,,,
Dear Tun,
I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him. ~Abraham Lincoln

Salam Tun,
Berikut beberapa pengalaman saya bila berada di luar negara:
1) Waktu ke Denpasar Bali, bersama isteri membeli baju di kedai yang kecil, kami ditanya, apakah kami dari Malaysia. Jawab kami, ya. Kata penjual, Malaysia=Dr Mahathir=Good;
2) Saya ke Shenzhen, China, atas urusan perniagaan, dan makan di sebuah restoran muslim yang kecil sahaja, tuan kedai tanya, apakah saya dari Malaysia? Saya Jawab Ya. Katanya, Malaysia=Dr Mahathir=good muslim=berani;
Katanya, MALAZIA? kata saya, Ya. Malayzia. Jawabnya terus, Malayzia, Dr Mahathir, I like, Good.
salam tun,
another great article from you. where is to find a leader who can deliver thier thought through verbal or written, as what you did. you are the best tun. keep writing and remind ourself on the true colours of malaysia history which many of us not know.
take care
Ybhg TDM,
Tapi berapa hari kemudian beliau memberi ceramah umum dihadapan beribu-ribu manusia.
Assalamualaikum Ayahanda ,
Sekarang orang sudah lupa ... pemimpin Melayu berjuang dengan nawaitu yang tidak betul , nawaitu yg salah bukan ikhlas berjuang utk Allah , agama , bangsa dan negara tapi utk perut, kuasa dan populaiti.. bertimbun2 cari harta kekayaan tak kira cara apapun.. tak kira 'hijack' projek orang lain walaupun orang lain susah payah fikir mcmana nak dpt projek itu .... nak tinggal di rumah besar2 , tak ingat tentang dosa pahala , tak ingat halal haram ... tak ingat tentang dunia ini hanya sementara ... baru pegang jawatan beberapa tahun dah buat rumah besar di 'oversea' ... kos bina rumah pun berjuta sama banyak kos ubahsuai...
Habis , macamana orag nak 'respect' ? Memang pemimpin Melayu dah jauh menyimpang dari 'nawaitu' yg betul .
Wassalam ...

Salam Tun,
Semoga Tun sihat bersama Tun Siti.
Recently in one of out station trips, in Kuching, I bumped into a flying Doctor - his job is to bring patients all around the world to thier home base, interesting!
He said he had never been to Borneo before and was astounded to see what Borneo(Kuching) is all about, beyond his imagination of being in deep rainforest! among other things he mentioned about you and your leadership, not too mention of many things he heard of Malaysia, Sepang, KLIA, Twin Towers, Putrajaya, etc. He even knows who is the architec, of course, it is you!
I just listened with great heart! My deep thought about what you have done to the country that will never be repeated in the history of Malaysia by current leaders, especially UMNO leaders.
I love this country Tun. I love your leadership too.
Semoga Allah SWT memelihara Tun.
Asalamualaikum Ayahenda Tun,
*Risau memikirkan keadaan Malaysia kini..
Asalamualaikum and Hello,
I quote:
"18. But I did try my best. If my best is not good enough I am sorry."
I'm very touched with these particular sentence. Allah is All-Forgiving my dear Tun. I'm very sure you've done your very best when you're at the helm of our country. "Wahai Tun, kita ini hanyalah hambaNya yang kerdil". Allah is All-Merciful, I can sense "taubat nasuha" within your touching words. I would rather calling myself a Sinner rather than a Saint for God sake. I ain't perfect, so is the rest of the world. At least you've given your advices, critics and put up all the effort to correct this problematic Country. "Perlu banyakkan doa, solat sunat tahajud di malam hari wahai Tun, kita semua". May God have mercy upon you Tun and the rest of Malaysia, Amin.
Assalamualaikum Tun
Yes i luv my country very2 much Tun.... There's no wrong doing of you when you're at the seat. Your action, your lead us Malaysia to become one of the greatest ever. but now what happen??? Please DSAB and current govern. Rakyat need to been taking care. Plz dont think about your self, we voted you because we believe in you, don't ripe our nation to become useless. It seems our nation now don't have any vision to go, No mission to follow if there's any leading us to bottom down, just we know we are having high inflation, our stock market going down etc...,
To Tun berdua plz take care, and thank you for everything that u have done to us that cannot been giving back from us to you. Only Allah can repay for your wisdom and kindness.
Tun
Your love for your country is undeniable, I am touched by you too. I am from Singapore, by the way!
terima kasih. saya melampirkannya dalam jurnal saya =D
Dear Tun
I have travelled to 26 countries. I had lived in South America and I am living in Canada for 3 years now. I have the same feeling as you do about going home. I went home to visit my family every year and I can't wait to go home again this December.
Tun - please form another party for all Malaysians because I believe that we should move away from race-based political system. Younger generations must be groomed to take over the country from incompetent leaders like Badawi.
To unhappy Malaysians:
There are so many comments on Chedet.com from unhappy non-bumi Malaysians who wish to immigrate to other countries. I have first-hand experience living in other countries and let me tell you that "there is no place like home". I might be biased because I am a Malay but ask yourself why there are millions of immigrants in Malaysia. They see what you failed to see. Most Malaysians don't realise what a wonderful country Malaysia was before Badawi took over. He is leading the country to a destruction. There must be something the Malaysians could do to change it.
Dear Tun,
Your article truly touches my heart. Every word is crafted with perfection. The tone and manner, the emotions it evokes, all these truly speaks how you feel today. I can understand the frustration you feel now about our leaders today. Anyway, allow me to say my piece here. I am a post-Merdeka Malaysian of Chinese descent. I chose not to use "Malaysian Chinese" or "Chinese Malaysian" because I am just a "Malaysian". To me, those born after merdeka deserves to be recognised as "native" as well. While it is understandable that those born before Merdeka are not "bumi" in their status, but for those born "after merdeka", they deserve the recognition no matter what race they are in. Why? Because all of us no longer attach to our forefather roots in China. Because we feel more "Malaysian" and unique in our way. Because if thousands of Indonesian immigrant can simply become a "Malaysian bumi", why not us. Because having such segregation is as referring to an "Apartheid" system. And last but not least, because we love Malaysia as much as any Malays or bumis in this land!! You mentioned we have come a long way to achieve what we achieved today. 51 years but then, after 100 years, do we still going to see this racial divide where everyone is still divided by the status of bumi- and non-bumi?? You said the system works well. If it is well, the rich won;t get richer and the poor won't get poorer. But now, we see UMNOputras are the ones who benefit more - and like you said, these are people who want to benefit more than sacrificing for the country. Time have changed. People have changed. If we truly call Malaysians a Malaysian, then we should change the mindset of segregating race. Remember, the theme for Olympic - "One World, One Dream". We should be ONE Malaysian....This should be the way!
