There are far too many comments and questions in my blog that I simply cannot respond to all. But I will try.
Pegging
The Bretton Woods System did not fail because the United States ran out of gold. It failed because Britain decided to devalue the pound. President Richard Nixon decided to go off the gold standard much later.
After that it was a free for all as currency traders fiddled with valueless paper money.
If we have a trading currency, it should be controlled by an international body unbeholden to the US or anyone else. Poor countries must be adequately represented.
Like all systems we need to study the pros and cons before we approve.
If during all these years we could use the US Dollar as a kind of standard, I don't see why we cannot use gold. Gold prices do fluctuate but the range is far less than with paper currency. Besides there will always be a demand for gold so that you will not lose too much if gold depreciates.

Tun Ghafar
I don't remember either Tan Sri Megat Junid or Tun Daim Zainuddin telling me that Tun Ghafar had lost grassroots support. Tun was always popular with the rank and file.
To avoid corruption of the delegates it was agreed that every nomination would get 10 bonus votes.
But Anwar Ibrahim had bought so many of the divisions that Tun Ghafar lost even before actual contest. He decided to resign. Anwar won and replaced Tun Ghafar as Deputy Prime Minister.

I am glad the North South Highway has shortened travel time. Despite the express highway carrying more vehicles, there has been far less fatal accidents than on the old roads.
We Malaysians must learn to drive slowly. The Japanese have more cars on their roads but far less fatal accidents. Use the outermost lane for slow driving, the innermost lane for overtaking. The lane in between the two is for speeds slightly higher than in the third lane.
Human Memory
I wrote this piece without explaining the background.
When I was being qestioned by the Royal Commission on the appointment of judges, I had to admit not being able to remember certain events.
The next day Anwar's people displayed a slogan "Mahathir Mudah Lupa". I don't think Anwar can remember the things he had done on a given date years ago either.
Kay Rahman - Bass Strait is between Australia and Tasmania. The same Bass surveyed Langkawi at the beginning of the last century. He named the harbour opposite Kuah in Langkawi "Bass Harbour".
Fishing port in Africa - Maputo in Mozambique or Walvis Bay, Namibia.
The book the "Malay Dilemma" was written partly during my expulsion by UMNO. But it was not to confront Tunku Abdul Rahman. It was to put in print my ideas about how to improve the lot of the Malays. I did not dream at that time that I would be in a position to carry out my ideas.
Despite my nasty letters to Tunku, I still respect and appreciate his services to the country, in particular his leadership in the struggle for independence. That is why I named many places and edifices in his name.
Jeffry Suresh Abdullah. Thank you for your kind words.
Nice to hear from Zyam, the grandson of my friend and colleague in the struggle against the Malayan Union and for independence.
Chekgu Haji Hassan bin Itam of Sekolah Melayu Simpang Empat was among the earliest to join the political struggles of the Malays of Kedah. He was ably supported by his wife, Hajjah Zaleha.
I owe him a great deal because when other adults did not think much of our anti-Malayan Union struggle, Chekgu Hassan Itam gave his full support.

Dear Tun,
I read the news that Anwar claims he will be tabling the budget as opposition leader on Monday. Strangely, wasn't he supposed to call for a vote of no-confidence against the PM to the extent that earlier he wanted an emergency session? Who in UMNO do you think best to pit against Anwar?

SALAM TUN,
Your writings are far more sharper when you write and respond in many issues such above.
Hopefully you can write your thoughts in many areas everyday because I couldn't see anyone with your age or even younger than you can compete in all of your work and writings.
Totally disagree with Anwar's people who dispayed the slogan "3M".
When compared your memory with many leaders that we have today, I don't even think or dare to write down the words "3M" cause my memory is not greater than you.
To Anwar people maybe they forgot(lupa) what he has done to TUN GHAFAR and Economic Crisis 1997-98.
Great work again and hopefully you will achieve your short term goal in near.
Maybe you can write down about the candidates who offer to seat for Deputy President post in the EGM next year. Rite now we have 4 or 5.

Assalamualaikum Tun,
I was greatly surprised to learn that you actually read all the comments posted on your blog, and made a REAL effort to address and answer them. This shows your true colour and it proves that you really listen to and care about the rakyat.
When you were the PM, I had the opportunity to attend the function which honoured your wife (in Indiana U, mid 1994 if I was not mistaken), and the way you oblige us for photo shoot(while you were trying to eat)really left a great impression on me. I clearly remembered sitting at the table just infront of you, together with one of the Malaysian SB officer that accompany you. For him to be able to relax and enjoyed the meal (as opposed to the Mat Saleh SB assigned by the US government), whenever someone went behind your seat to take pictures really surprised me. It showed how comfortable you were with ordinary citizen like us.
Take a good care of yourself and may Allah bless you for all the good deeds that you have done and forgive you for any wrongdoings if there are any...
Wassalam.

hi Tun,
Im 1st Today....im learning alot for you..thx.
Hi Tun,
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Semoga Tun sihat sejahtera.
Best Regard,

HUMAN MEMORY
Saya pernah kena IR.Dua orang datang, saya explain to much.Bengang diaorang sebab setiap jawapan saya jawab dengan amat logik.
Dua minggu kemudian datang sorang chinese expert nampaknya.
At last saya sign surat resign 24 jam. Tapi sori la....bos besar saya terlewat sign surat transfer saya.
Saya sebagus lawyer.Saya tak perlu pergi ke oxford.
Terima kasih Tun.
Dear Tun,
Hope are doing in good health. Great write-up as usual.
Just wondering, in reference to today's political, social, and economic scenario, is Malaysia still heading to the right direction for Vision 2020 or lagging behind? Is Malaysia ready for the bangsa Malaysia concept if today there is still continued racial polarisation in this country?
Your thoughts of the upcoming US Presidential Election this November?
Love to know your stand.
Take care.
Cheerios!
im sure Tun would like to comment on the proposal by Ku Li too. he suggested that BN to be open to all races and unite under one party. what say you tun?

Dear Tun,
Once again, you have written a very informative article
Dearest Tun,
I think Malaysians drivers in general are impatient and agressive lots. That's why when they drive, they tend to drive very agressively. Maybe its the road system that cause these people to be so impatient with the jems here and there and also maybe, to make a living in Malaysia, one had to be agressive and this is reflected in the way Malaysian drive their car.
On Anwar, I don't know why, but I NEVER liked him. Base on what he had been doing recently, I can't help but feel he only had his interest in his mind. How all these supporters of his can believed what he says still baffles me.
I knew Tun had a lot of faith in Anwar back then when he is the DPM. Initially he was okay. But when he had held power in his hand, he begin to show his real self. Then one day, Pak Aziz came to Tun and said, "Tuan. I was told Tun had a sad look on Tun face back then.
When Anwar was sacked from the government, he tried to create chaos by instigating the people against the government. He also claims that the government is corrupted and that he want to change that. To me, that statement is the most hiprocrite statement I had ever heard in my life. He was in power for so long and yet he had done nothing back then but now that he is out, he want to make the change. What a lot of bull.
Take care of your health Tun and may God bless Tun always.

Hi Tun M,
You have done so much for this country that one day if you shall not be around anymore, history will still remember your contributions and efforts as the father of modern Malaysia, read by perhaps even my grandsons. Let it be criticsms or propagandas, nothing will change our view for you.
I thought u dont have time to read all comments.. as an ordinary person, what shall can I do to help our country Tun??? Should I form a group of people and do a street demonstration (with permit..he3)
salam dr m
saya ingin nak mengingat kan tun bahawa sesungguhnya mati itu adalah benar...hentikn lah politik karut tun tu sebelom mati ..

Assalamualaikum Tun and Family. Selamat Hari Raya Puasa Enam.
After reading and going through many pratice from many country, i think malaysia is practising communalism law and not democracy, passing to selected successor or hand picking the next leader is not at all democratic.
1. I MISS YOU. I don’t watch the news or read the newspapers because you are not there. Don’t stop writing because I miss you.
2. We met once at Putrajaya mosque. We shaked hand. Your face looked serene. I was puzzled. Don’t you have the country’s problems to think about. You were with the late Sultan Salahuddin. I liked his face too. Very friendly. I remember his white nostril hair. I don’t remember the year.
3. I’m 35 years old. I know no other leadership other than yours. There are many like me. We are now junior captains of our industry. We miss you. We are now without a leader. But don’t you worry. We’ll make it through. You have moulded us well. You’ve made us tough. We are your generation. You can take pride in that.
4. I have a sister who is going to be a doctor. I tried to stop her from taking that path. I made a bullet list argument of what a thankless job it is. It pays a pittance. I was winning with my logic until she says she likes to help people. I just pointed her to you, the worst paid doctor ever.
5. There are calls for your return. I disagree. I believe there is a limitation to what a man should give. But I think you’ll never stop giving. That is the doctor in you. It is your weakness. Just don’t stop writing and saying what you want to say.
6. Business now is tough. There is very little money going around. We had to go to foreign waters to secure future income. Surprisingly we are doing very well. Your criticism of the west are sometimes over the top. I love your comment about the west in HardTalk. It just cracks me up. It also gave us confidence. You speak very well of the cuff. Same cannot be said about your pick.

Salam Tun,
Your "Human Memory" really touches deep in my heart.
Just before my mother Hjh Argon Abdullah from Kulim passed away at the age of 49 in 1985 due to kidney and heart failure, she reminded me that whatever happened to this country only UMNO could defend the Malays and Islam. She wanted all of us in our family to remain loyal to UMNO.
At that time I did not really understand the struggle of UMNO. Now I realized what she meant if UMNO becomes weak and the Malays are divided. Politically, our family members are divided now, but deep in their heart I know they still loves the party that our parents once struggled along.
I wish Tun will come back to UMNO and continue with its struggle. I know spiritually you never left UMNO. So do many of us.
Dearest Tun
DSAI will be suitable 4 the next P.M. if he were to join UMNO ?

Your memory is doing just fine.
Selamat Hari Raya Tun. How sure are you that Anwar Ibrahim BOUGHT the divisions. Is it an emotional assumption? strategic accusation or you have proof of it?
Yg Bhg Tun,
I strongly think Tun shud be ropped in to advise the present government particularly the MOF on how to run the financial business and mitigate the crises. Your ideas are brilliant. I do not think DSN is able to think that far.
My sympathy to the late Tun Ghafar. Obviously he was outsmart by DSAI. But, if TG were to become a PM, the country wud have faced the same situation as it is now. DSAAB is either on the same calibre as TG otherwise worse.
Knowing the mentality of most malaysian drivers, driving slowly on the highway is not a good advice especially on the fast lane because the slow driver will become a road-hogger and will lead to unnecessary tension to tailgating vehicle. The best advice perhaps is to drive defensively. Not too fast and not too slow.
We are human being and not prophet. Everyone forgets. But in most cases if not all, people have the tendency to forget during Q&A in court to play safe. That's why we are called human being.
Dear Tun,
When I was travelling in Germany recently, I managed to chit chat with a taxi driver there. Even though it was a short talk, the Iranian borned taxi driver responded immediately when I told him that I was from Malaysia.
He said "Oh, I know Mahathir". "He is a great leader!" he added. My friends who were travelling with me were surprised that someone from thousand kilometres away actually knows our leader.
Throughout the short driving journey, the Iranian taxi driver was very friendly toward us and he sent his warmest regards to you (Tun). So here I am relaying the message to you.
You have done us proud and we hope that this will continue in the near future.
You are the Greatest, Tun.
Sam, Niceguy.

Thank you Tun for replying some of the enquiries. I know you are inundated by many questions.
Love your piece on Khairy :-)
Although moving away from the standard can result in inflation, pegging the money to a gold standard may be impractical. The reason the US moved away from the gold standard was to make deficit spending possible to win world war 2. If America stuck with the gold standard, they would have had to mine more gold in the world just to increase the supply of money for their war industry.
The solution is to put in place an automatic price control system whenever the value of a country's unbacked paper money exceeds a certain standard deviation, something like what you did for Malaysia during the financial crisis Tun except that this system would operate whenever the price moves beyond a certain point, and does not need special governtment action to introduce which can use up time.

YAB Tun,
It is encouraging to see you attempted to reply to all the comments and queries.
With regards to pegging, do you think the Government is ready to face the inevitable economic onslaught?
Our leaders seemed more occupied in the politics of keeping themselves in power. What's your view on this?
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Hopefully I'm the first...
Do you still believe that the Government should reconsider pegging? What I can see from day to day is our currency keep on losing its value eventhough our Government said that we are not going to face a hard time cuz of our strong base.
tun,
slmt hari raya... i hope im the first to comment.......tq
DS Anuar Ibrahim hari ini memberitahu pemberita diluar mahkamah bahawa orang melayu@islam tidak layak menjadi pemimpin negara sekiranya mereka ini zalim terhadap orang bukan melayu yg dimasukkan kedalam tahanan dibawah ISA. Apa pendapat Tun?
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Tun,
Thanks for all this information. We really need it because we never know it.... Now we knew it...
We always do love you...
No worries Tun....
Tahniah Tun.
Dear Tun,
Selamat Hari Raya to you & your family! I enjoyed reading your blog everyday. Infact, allow me to suggest if Tun can have separate blogs, one on politic & another for economy. Well it seems Tun very humble when talk about financial matters. But Malaysians know that Tun have done a fantastic job for Malaysia during as PM. What you mentioned make sense.
Assalamualaikum Tun,
Still not too late to wish you Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri
I only can wish that our current leader can be as economy savvy as you are..then we won't be having all these turmoil...even if the rest of the world are suffering.
I still remember that even in your time..the global politics and economics turmoil do have an effect on Malaysia..but it was cushioned(minimal)..due to your excellent preparation and prevention steps prior to the issues.
Now it seems every major disaster in the world have a direct and fast impact on us...
How i wish that you are back on the helm of Malaysia...then only we can be respected again in the eyes of the world.
You are my hero Tun.
...tun
selamat hari raya...
Assalaamu'alaikum Tun and Chedet.com family,
Its my first comment here, although have been following your blog since you started. Just to wish you and all Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin.
Thanks for all your postings that have teach us in many ways ...

Assalamualaikum Tun.
Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir & Batin
I like the pegging article better. Perhaps, you may want to elaborate and discuss a little bit more - something that we might dont have in print.
Anyway Tun - it doesnt matter how far we go, the measure of a man is still what's inside.
A.H.M.S. Idrewoods
Akum Tun,
Pak is a struggling to survive and recently KJ is eying for UMNO Youth post. I suspected both have discussed earlier to let KJ make announcement first and tomorrow Pak Lah will be saying, me too going to be one of the candidate for UMNO President.
Pak Lah is always Pak Lah, and KJ is always KJ, both of them thought what they planned , rakyat would not be able to know what is their next move. Some of the Menteris are so corrupt and to be in Pak Lah good books just be dumb and deft.
I hope somebody would rehabilitate both of them.
Tun our next move should be plan by your goodself. Do give advice us your next move, we will regroup for the sake of the nation.
Asalamualaikum Tun...
I'm really proud of you..Tun.Tidak pernah takut dn gentar pada sesiapa kerana apa yang Tun katakan adalah benar.
salam!tun, how sure you are that the person who will replace aab can do a better job? as you had said last time, 'seseorang itu bukan sahaja mesti bersih tetapi mesti nampak bersih'.
Salam Tun
You always have ideas on topic. wonder what will happen to this blog if paklah decided to step down..errr..mintak mintak jangan habis topik sudahlaa coz I really enjoy reading...your blog..
Dear Tun Dr. Mahathir,
I might not a good commentator but I can feel the truth. I might be a bit obsessed about you but I know u are a man of words.
During 1997 crisis between you and Dato Seri Anwar, I was confused. A lot of people around me condemned you personally but I took long way before I made my stand. I told myself to wait and see what would be the result of your decisions to peg the RM against USD and give no value to RM outside Malaysia. Well, today I could see that those decisons were absolutely right.
Then, during the first hari raya after the crisis (I was at my wife's hometown and did not have much things to do), I found a white book in the classic book shelf with the title "Cita-cita dan pencapaian" published in 1972 written by you. What I can say is you managed to materialise what you have mentioned in the book and I can see it with my bare eyes.
I want to write more but may be not now. I pray to Allah for your best health and really hope to see you keep on contributing to islam and Malaysia.
with warm regards.
Tun,

Dear Tun
Of all our prime ministers the Tunku and you are the outstanding prime ministers who contributed significantly to the country and its development.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to you and family.
Dear Tun,
We (i probably speak for many whose questions and remarks have gone unanswered) understand that while you may not be able to answer all our questions or remarks, we believe that there were many important ones that have gone unanswered.
Correct me if i'm wrong. Was Anwar not your protege that he rose to the ranks of Deputy Premier within 11 years of coming into Barisan Nasional politics. First becoming an MP in 1982 and deputy premier in 1993. Weren't you one of the forces behind Anwar getting full support from divisions all over that Ghafar had to resign or rather leave in humiliation?
There are many questions that go unanswered or even published. I've had many of my comments not published. Hope this does. I am an ardent fan of you and used to be a silent critic of your previous administration and you. Not today though
Dear Dr M,
I'm still cannot understand why do you hate Anwar so much. If u already now from the beginning Anwar use money to buy the vote, why u didn't stop him? U let him to be your TPM for 8 years before u throw all the wrong doing. Is it right? Why UMNO so many "old faces without any brain to control the country? I see Muhd Taib also want to contest TPM post. What do u think? Is it young people in UMNO don't have the brain & gut like your son? The time for old faces from 50s & 60s to give way for young generation to hold the top post in the country. One more thing, UMNO like the modern monarki where the politicians are coming from the same family....its look like Abdullah & KJ, DR M & mukhriz, Jazalan & Mohamad rahmat, & many more......why we the malay cannot think out of the box....I hope the young generation will have the mind that different from their parent.....see again in PRU13.....good luck to u & muhkriz
Salam Tun.
Dear Tun
The north south highway is the best project during your tenure. Travelling time was shortened, thereby speed up development.
However, bad driving habit is the cause of many accidents.
Slow moving heavy vehicles can cause accidents, esp.at night.
They should identify themselves by installing more lights on the back, and on higher position, like that of Oil tankers or buses.
At night, the rear lights of a Low Loader,is no different from a salloon car. However, it is moving so slowly, that a speeding vehicle will easily crash into it. That could explain why many express bus crashed into the back of lorries at night.
Tun, even a proven capable leader like you have appointed someone to head our country and yet it was a flop. Now,Malaysia is awaiting their next head of administration for the whole country and it is to be appointed by someone who is less capable. Do you think our system is right? We all can see how President of United State is been appointed.
Salam Tun, You have been talking dinar a few years ago. Yet Zionis country ignored your proposal. Now the USD even pound are exploded like fire crackers. What will happen to our country which trading to much on USD? Is dinar trading is much complicated paper trading?
Terima kasih.
Salam Tun,
Pertama kali.
Sokongan buat Tun.
Wasalam.
Assalammualaikum Tun,
Thank you for the open house last sunday. By the way Tun I came accross in the internet that during the 1997 market turmoil, DSAI was funded by George Soros. Just wondering, is it true?
Salam Tun, How complicated this dinar as compared to paper trading that no one dares to talk nor shifting to use dinar. Will our country re think or may find other altenatif other than dinar, since we were too much trading in USD.
hi..tun,,
just wan2 say hello..
Assalammualaikum YBhg Tun,
Pegging
As long as crude oil is traded in US dollar, it will be difficult for any other standard to replace the US dollar as "standard" of international trade. The reason is obvious. All country in the world need oil.
For those countries that did not have any oil, they will have to buy US dollar, using their domestic currencies and pay for oil that they required for their energy requirements. As such, the demand for the "useless" piece of paper will always be around and cannot be abandoned for another currency or standard.
For those that have oil, they will have tons of US dollar that can be "spent" in US. Alternatively, the US dollar can be used to purchase goods and services from all over the world or be invested in US dollar denominated assets; both physical and paper assets.
So, perpetual demand and supply of US dollar from all over the world enable the US Treasury to continue printing the US dollar without any restrictions. Therefore, the US government will go to great length to protect the unique situation of US dollar in the world.
Tun Ghaffar
What happened to Tun Ghaffar in 1993 was quite sad as he actually believed that Anwar will not go for the deputy president post. Once he realised what Anwar was up to it was too late and the rest is history.
Balik Kampung
I was born in Selangor and my mother now reside in Kg Laksamana, Batu Caves. I met my wife while we were studying in the US and luckily she is from Kg Datok Keramat, Kuala Lumpur. So, my balik kampung journey is between 40 to 45 minutes.
However, we always make a trip to Labu to visits our relatives there. Now, I only have two aunties in Labu as one of them passed away just before Ramadan.
Anyway, the North-South Highway has made the journey a smooth one and we were able to get to visit more relatives in a day.
Memory
When you posted the article last week, the Linggam trial came to mind.
I'm with you in the sense that we can't remember every little detail of what we do or say since we were born unless all those situations are recorded and filed properly for future reference.
However, the human brain is remarkable as it just store everything that we do or say. The trick is how to recall such memory. This is something that we never did learn to do.

Tun, i hope you also can give us the information about education. As a student,i don't know why education or examination in Malaysia is just memorise only. In Europe,I heard they concentrate in application. I hope you can give us answer about education and more info. :)
Dear Tun,
You really impressed me by going through all the many comments yourself.
Hope you can enlighten us with your view on the turbulent domestic and international economy. The banks in US and Europe have started to fall.
What will happen to the financial institutions in Malaysia with their fund name like global asset fund, global equity fund, global real estate, global fortune fund etc ?
tun, sebagai rakyat malaysia saya amatlah berbangga mempunyai pemimpin seperti tun... tetapi pemimpin saya sekarang hampeh... alangkah bagusnya tun menjadi pm kembali.. huhuhuhu
Thank god, that someone here to realize what's happening in current situation. Thank you Tun.
Assalamualaikum & Selamat Hari Raya Tun sekeluarga,
North South Highway has shortened travel time. Despite the express highway carrying more vehicles, there has been far less fatal accidents than on the old roads.
Terimakasih Ayahanda Tun.
Doa moga Ayahanda Tun dan Bonda Siti Hasmah sihat selalau.
ASSALAMUALAIKUM,TUN YANG DIKASIHI..
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri pada Tun dan isteri..
BALIK KAMPUNG
Long term effect, property pun bertambah baik di kawasan2 macam ni.
Satu lagi berkenaan perancangan Tun, bila semua buat 'monotonos zoning' tu yang Putrajaya punya core town area still mati. Siang, orang berlumba2 pergi kerja, petang berlumba-lumba balik. Kita kena galakkan 'Mixed-Use'. baru balance. Itu yang terjadi kat bandar2 kita. Malam bila dah takada orang yang tinggal dalam bandar, ia jadi sunyi sepi, dan jenayah pun senang nak berlaku.(kenapala depa tak dengar kata Tun masa design Putrajaya dulu)
Jalan Jem pun sebab tu. puncanya Monotonus Zoning. Lebih banyak Urban Sprawl dan sebagainya.
Tun, berkenaan Pegging, saya rasa depa kena study betul2 hal ni. sekarang German pun tgh sibuk nak bail out firm depa. saya kurang arif ekonomi, tapi saya rasa setakat ni siapa yang ada backup Gold selain reserve US Dollar, lebih selamat. need more study here.

Saya amat bangga dgn Tun.
Saya rasa berpersatuan amat penting. Kita patut contohi masyrakat Cina. Kita boleh menjadi pendesak ( among important stakeholders to the gov)
Apa pendapat tun?

Dear tun,
Selamat hari raya!Forget the past,is time to move forward.
Race party ,memang dah tak boleh pakai.Everyone have to work hard! But i dont think they want to!sorry to said that ,lazy is partly our culture nowadays! In your time malaysia have created a lot of tycoon and businessman, now i dont see anyone who really work by his own hand to obtain wealth. For them is to get whatever they want without workhard,Rezeki la they call it!So how are you goin to really make this country to be equal and risk taker when race party already make so much noise about their own right!Without wealth ,you think malaysia can obtain independence so easily! If not we will like afrika or indonesia!Sorry state malaysia ,this is the reality of malaysia for the future if we don change!
If during all these years we could use the US Dollar as a kind of standard, I don't see why we cannot use gold. Gold prices do fluctuate but the range is far less than with paper currency. Besides there will always be a demand for gold so that you will not lose too much if gold depreciates.
i think we all should buy gold or whatever gold products such as necklace, bracelets, lots of it and let the wife/wives keep it for safekeeping and to make them happy and to prepare for the worst global economic slowdown...
old school style...
Dearest Tun,
What do you think DSAAB will say tomorrow( 8-10-2008)?
Hope he will step down....ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

Dearest Tun,
On balik kampung, those days balik kampungs' folks to the north used to hate Negeri Perak. Imagine passing through Perak from Tanjung Malim to Taiping, such a long and winded country road. The North-South Highway saved us. But nowadays we even have traffic jam on the north-south highway. We should have build wider highways those days. I am sure Tun would agree.
Dr.M,
Your view of world politics is fascinating. I follow your blog from time to time. You said Anwar is supported by US. He gets funding from them.
This is not the first time US is backing another politician who they want to become PM. So why don't you tell the truth and come clean about what you know about the 1969 affair. The US and UK did plot to install a regime change via Tun Razak.
So are we going through 1969 now with Anwar because of Badawi's foreign and monetary policies?
Thank you.
Salam Tun,
My understanding of the 3 carriageway road is that the innermost lane is for slow driving, the middle lane is the fast lane i.e. for those driving slightly below the speed limit and the outermost lane is meant for overtaking.
So people who are trying to drive close to the speed limit i.e. 110 mph should stick to the middle lane.
Am I right on this?
Hi Tun,
Incidentally on the subject of memory loss if my memory serves me right I do not remember a holiday being declared as a mark of restpect on the death of our former first Prime Minister, Tengku Abdul Rahman, if so, why, after all the other late Prime Ministers were honoured with a holiday as a mark of respect.
I will appreciate the reason for your action.
Take care.
Dear Tun,
The current standard of sports in this country is embarassing! I wonder why?
The reason behind it could be the same reason why until today we still need to import foreign expertise when it comes to the various industries, even music( Petronas Symphony )and pay them so much money! I'm sure the total will run into billions.
Is it that they are genectically superior? They have the same amount of time in which to study a particular field. Many Malaysians have even studied overseas.
It has nothing to do with genetics, even if there were, the difference would not be that glaring! I believe it is because at pre-uni level, the natural abilities of each student has only been identified to a very basic level.
Too much emphasis has been placed in correcting the imbalance between the various races in Malaysia, resulting in the foreigners laughing all the way to the banks! Instead of competing with ourselves we should be competing with foreigners with the best people available for every field.
By trying to correct the internal racial imbalance, our global competitivness has been seriously compromised.
The same has been happening to our sports!
Hello Tun.
Hope you had a great Hari Raya celebration. I am so glad to have found your blog. It was by accident as recently I have been digging around on the internet about all these people that have been gracing the headlines lately. Figured I should start knowing who these people are and what they are doing to this beloved country.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
H.Ngu
U are brilliant TUN!!
I missed your talks!!
Dear Tun,
It is a great plesure to be able to pen a few words in Tun's blog.To all peace loving Malaysian's please take some time to read some very valueable contributions of Tun.Although we could not agree to everything that is been said by Tun but at least though Tun's blog we are able to get some knowledge of how our beloved country was managed during Tun's era.As the saying goes no one is prefect, there were some short comings during Tun's era.Though Tun's blog we are able to know many things that had taken place and which are taking place which are not avaiable through our main stream media's.It is easy to be a Malay hero,a Chinese hero or a Indian hero but it is difficult to be a Malaysian hero.May God Bless Tun and family.
Salam Tun dan Rakan Pengkomen,
Tun wrote....Use the outermost lane for slow driving, the innermost lane for overtaking. The lane in between the two is for speeds slightly higher than in the third lane.
My question is a bit out of topic, but I need to share...I am confused.
I am driving up to the limit speed on the road with two lanes per direction, do I have the right to stay on the inner lane as there shouldn't be any car faster and need to overtake me except emergency service vehicles like police, ambulance, etc?
Any other common car offensively speeding above the limit approaching behind me has to overtake me using the outer lane if they still wish to. Why is it so?
It is very dangerous for me, just to give way to offenders, have to drive on the outer lane and have to keep changing lane now and then, everytime approaching any slow moving vehicle infront while those hell drivers are happily zooming just besides my ear on the inner lane.
Why danger ourselve in support for offenders!
Anyway, your once said as wasteful Mega Highway Project by foreign media and their stupid local followers is now proven otherwise. I still remember, just after it's completion, a foreign magazine showed an aerial view picture of some kilometers of PLUS highway with only two or three cars seen on it.
Assalamualaikum Tun,
I'm always supporting you. I still remember one of your words of wisdom.. kita tak mati di 'boo'. Keep it up Tun. You are God's Gift for us!!
May Allah bless you!

Salam Eidulfitri Ybhg. Tun.

Salam Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad :D
Salam Tun,
Kalau ramai dah lupa and tak highlight, saya nak mengingatkan mereka contribution kerajaan to me and many others.
This is to show that what the government is doing is working but it will take time. Looks like it may take 1-2 generations for the Malays to become independant. Yes, we have much to improve but what is in place is not completely rubbish! I and many more have benefited from the programs and we are not racist. Many of us are proffessionals and we are able to compete at any level and any stage. Should the government continue to help "Bumi" in education and etc, the better it will be for the nation and it may not be in our lifetime but the social contract will definately be removed one day. Just do not do it prematurely as there will be consequenses.

Salam,
Tun, apa yang terjadi pada 12 Ogos 1982 ?? Saya masih tertanya-tanya.
Kalau kita lihat bagaimana penyokong-penyokong Anwar menyokong beliau secara membabi buta kita merasa sedih mengenangkan betapa lemahnya tahap pemikiran orang Melayu.
Dimana salahnya?
TDM,
Saya melihat negara kita sekarang menghadapi krisis kepimpinan.
Salaam Tun and Selamat hari raya aidilfitri buat Tun sekeluarga. I pray for health and strength and panjang umur dan sentiasa dalam rahmat Allah s.w.t.
Tun, ada plan nak datang Dubai ke? u made us proud in Dubai, people cannot separate Malaysia wt yr name everytime they knew we are malaysian..I am so proud. But lately, professionals kat Dubai ni dah mula memberi sokongan yang kuat to PKR and meeka agak taksub dgn DSAI...baru semalam KM Lim Guan Eng datang menziarah...berduyun2 org datang pergi salam cium tangan selamat hari raya..saya pun tak faham apakah perjuangan beliau yg beliau begitu di sanjungi oleh org2 melayu.
Salam sejahtera TUN and Family,
Hope it's not too late for me and family to wish you Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Hope this posting will appear in your next topic and at the first comment.
After so many rumours that Najib to be a PM soon then quite few numbers of senior minister start to volunteer to be 2nd man to him. If that's true those candidate are so competent and so capable then we, rakyat are VERY RELIEF that our future and next generation will be VERY SECURED. We are so lucky to have so many people born to be a PM/Deputy...
However we hope that those who are not selected to be a PM and deputy should not be so dissapointed as their mindset is to grow the nation. They need to wait for their turn. They should sit on the same table with present government to provide and to share their "PM/Deputy's ideas" to contribute to rakyat and nation. Since we have so many "PM/Deputy" I believe we will be the most or the best country in the world.
Sorry to say that every country only have each sit for those 2 position and ONLY for those who really competent. Probably one day we might have a few PMs and few Deputies at the same time to drive the country..
Let's wait and see.
Take care.
